01What it does

FiberMend provides seven grams of dietary fiber per serving, including six grams of soluble fiber, to help fill a dietary gap and support regularity. It also supplies prebiotic fiber that feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Product information

02Why I carry it

Fiber. You’ve probably heard “it’s good for you.” But how—and why?

A question I always come back to is, “Do you know why you’re taking this?” Fiber deserves that same conversation.

So, let’s talk about it.

There are two main types. Soluble fiber dissolves in water; some forms create a gel. Insoluble fiber adds bulk and helps move stool along. Many foods contain both. Soluble doesn’t automatically mean gentle, and insoluble doesn’t automatically mean harsh—the particular fiber and your tolerance matter. More on fiber types

One ingredient I particularly like is partially hydrolyzed guar gum. Terrible name. Interesting fiber. It gives me a practical way to add soluble fiber to a routine I already have.

How much are we aiming for? General adult guidance is about 22–34 grams of total fiber daily, depending on age and sex. That includes food and supplements together. Seven grams from FiberMend helps close a gap; throw the berries in, and you’re even closer to your daily goal. Daily fiber guidance

Fiber is part of a healthy eating pattern, not just bathroom logistics. I want a variety of fiber-rich foods on the plate; this powder helps fill a gap.

For those of us on a GLP-1, a smaller appetite can make those daily goals harder to reach. But when digestion already feels sluggish, piling on more fiber isn’t always the answer. I care about the amount, the type, fluids, and how it feels—not just hitting a number.

03How I use it

I mix it into my daily protein shake. One routine, fewer things to remember.

And food still comes first. I love, love, love a handful of berries in the morning with—you guessed it—my shake.

The best kind? Whatever’s on sale. Don’t be picky. Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries—mix it up. I try to buy organic when the price makes sense, but an organic price tag shouldn’t be the reason you skip fruit altogether.

Blend them into your shake. Grab a handful and see how many you can fit in one bite. Carefully eat them one at a time with a fancy fork. Do what works for you and your routine.

As for me? Blueberries. One handful, as I run out the door.

Thorne’s directions are one scoop mixed with at least eight to ten ounces of water, juice, or another beverage daily. If you’re adding fiber, start with a smaller amount and increase gradually as tolerated. Keep up with fluids, too. Directions · Adding fiber gradually

One exception matters: if you have diagnosed gastroparesis or persistent vomiting, significant abdominal pain, or pronounced fullness after very little food, don’t keep adding fiber to force things along. Check with your prescriber; delayed stomach emptying can call for a different approach, including less fiber. Guidance on gastroparesis
