01What it does
Protein support for everyday life. Thorne Whey Protein Isolate provides 21 grams of complete protein per scoop, including all nine essential amino acids, to support muscle maintenance and recovery. It’s also NSF Certified for Sport.
02Why I carry it
I’ve tried so many protein powders I’d like to blame the bad ones for my hairline. No scientific evidence there. Just a personal grievance.
My number-one complaint? Mixability. If it doesn’t mix, I’m not taking it. I want a shake, not a scavenger hunt for dry powder.
I use the vanilla with water, and how well it mixes is a big reason it earned a spot here. The quality matters, too.
It’s whey isolate, which generally contains less lactose than whey concentrate and may be easier for some people to tolerate. Thorne also adds bromelain and papain—enzymes from pineapple and papaya—to help with protein digestion. That’s a thoughtful addition, although I wouldn’t promise anyone a completely bloat-free experience.
Nothing magical. Just a quality protein powder that fits my routine without becoming a project. Sometimes that’s exactly what a product needs to be.
03How I use it
I mix the vanilla with water. Simple, easy, and something I’ll actually keep doing.
Thorne’s directions are one scoop mixed with at least eight ounces of water or another beverage. Adjust the liquid to the consistency you enjoy.
This is a milk-derived protein, so it isn’t suitable for someone with a milk allergy. Lower lactose doesn’t mean dairy-free.
